No one forced these people to enlist. That is the point. You were told of your responsibilities and obligations when you chose to serve. Now you must accept and live up to them.
Do I have sympathy for people in this situation? Sure I do, but you made your choice when you signed up and now you should live up to it. Unless as someone mentioned before, you are willing to give up the benefits you have and will receive from the military, you should not be thinking anything more.— dfortsch
